Hi, my friend and I are pretty new to the sport butwe really like it. We are hoping to go to a good spot next weekend somewhere in the Fraser Valley or toward Squamish where we can camp, and also rent a boat with a motor.... We really like catching more than fishing so some tips on a good spot to catch and what hooks/lures/bait etc. to use would be much appreciated!

Not sure how much there is in the squamish area but not much for resorts in the lower mainland. Surrey Lake(south of Kamloops) is affordable and only 2.5 to 3 hours out of Vancouver.

if you want to learn fishing fast, and to catch something,
get the services of a professional guide.

Alice lake is too busy with thousands of people splashing around. Fishing the rivers in Squamish you must know where to go because you can spend a whole day walking around. Bull trout in squamish are fun to catch but you must know the river or go with somebody that does. I go there quite a lot so if you need a guide email thewolf_zz@hotmail.com
