We are looking for a 14' aluminum boat, wondering what other sources than Craigslist there are. Buy/Sell sections of fishing forums?
(I don't see such a category here on Sharphooks, is there a plan for such a section?)

try Craig s list for the US. Got mine down their this spring. Real good deal. Their economy is a lot worse than ours and people seem to need money a little more plus the selection was a lot better. I Got a 12' aluminum 9.8 merc, 35# minnakota electric w/battery, swivel seat, 2 mini down riggers, fuel tank, 2 rod holders, and trailer. was asking $1100us got it for $800us. Make sure you get boat and trailer titles and bill of sale. and boarder is no problem. Also if made in US or Canada no duty

Buying in the US looks like a good way to get a deal, even with the exchange. When you get the documents you need, do you have to go to an insurance broker to get trailer insurance for the trip home, or can you arrange that ahead of time?
