Has anyone camped and fished Silver Lake near Hope? How are the campsites? Hows the fishing? Is there a boat launch? Thinking of going there for the long weekend and would appreciate any info.

When I camp up there, it's usually past the lake on the side of the river, but I've been through the campsite.
The campsites are pretty nice, but if you have a dog, they are only allowed in your site. The beach is a no-dog zone.
Fishing is pretty good, but you can't keep anything.
There is also boat launch.

I went to Silver Lake this past May long weekend with the family and our dog. What a great place. The sites are very nice with beautiful greenery and a nice forest to explore. The sites are a good size. Not very private but there are only 25 sites so there wasent allot of people even though the place was full. The beach area was really nice too. The boat launch was perfect and the lake and surrounding mountains are stunning. The fishing wasent as good. Couldnt catch a thing in 3 days. I have herd that fishing is good up there but just wasent good for me then. I highly recommend Silver Lake to anyone.

How were the rangers about the dog. When we went, we just drove through the campsite to check it out. Then we went to the beach to spend the day. On our way to the beach, we saw the signs about no dogs allowed and didn't want to be hassled.
It is a really nice lake.
On a side note, there are a couple lake hikes further up the road that I'd like to chech out sometime.

I think either could make for some interesting tube fishing.

We took our dog to the beach all the time. No problems. What ranger, never saw him after I gave him my money to camp there. Of course I made sure to clean up after my dog to. If there were people there we kept him on leash otherwise we had no issues letting him run around down there.
