Is Chilliwack Lake open for fishing. The info on the B.C. Parks site only mentions that the campground is not open till May 1 but is the lake and boat launch still accessible or are the gates closed. Any info much appreciated. Thanks!!

I heard today there is a Massive boulder blocking the road 1.5km south of the park gate.

The "massive" rock is the size of a small house......gonna be a while till it's gone.

I was up there yesterday with the family. No road was blocked. The Gate is locked and you have to walk down through the Campground to get to the lake.
There were actually quite a few people down at the lake yesterday walking, taking pics etc No one fishing though.

I sourced it through the same web site....I also got the backroad link from there.

last year in may the boat launch was unaccessable due to high water,beaches were under too. the boulder is not in the way unless heading south of the campsite on the forestry road. the extreme south end of the lake is closed to fishing as an ecology reserve. salmon migrate through the lake and chase the other fish over towards the road. check under the footbridge, as they rest there.(also closed to fishing
