Looking for a new lake to head to this June, and am thinking of Bolean Lake. Just wondering if anyone here had been up there to fish, camping or at the lodge, and what you thought.

Cool never heard of this lake but just checked the website and im going! Gonna take the rv and boat up there this spring for sure. Looks like a nice lake.

bolean is a small lk with smaller but plentiful trout. the road to it is narrow , steep and windy.about 10 kms. i'd hate to meet a logging truck with a motorhome!! it is a good road though. there are several other lks close by incl arthur and spa.
both have nice trout, not huge but fairly plentiful.
a one pound trout is a good fish in these lks with 2 pounds liely the top end and rare.
it might be early to get up there until june as it is quite high with lots of snow.

Jimmy lake is also close by. It is a trophy lake in progress. Lots of big rainbows many are in the 5-6 pound range. There is a single barbless hook bait ban,and you can only retain 1 fish, and it must be over 50cm. You can get an RV in.

jimmy is on the other side of the hwy.from bolean but it is within a short drive . there are lots of lakes near jimmy incl pineaus lk with a lodge.
there are also the douglas lk ranch lks nearby as well.
lots of lakes within a short distance of falkland with good fishing. for those who don't mind highway noise monty
is worth a try.

Spent a week on bolean road extreme steeeeep i had a toyota and a small camper used low range no problem !!!or else you might be needing a set of new brakes..

yes it is steep. coming down when the road is solid ice is really exciting!
