have to pick up my girlfriend in kelowna apr 4. just wondering if any water will be open.looking for a place to camp for a few days before. I know it's early,i have winter gear so camping is not cold, have a 4x4 so I can get to some places, fish out of belly boat,toon,or tin can. Just need the water to splash. Will I fishing or just camping any help would be nice. And I know the "good" lakes open may first. thanks

i doubt the ice will be off even the lowest lakes.

the way this spring is going not many lakes will open, -16 the other night. there are always the bigger lakes here, Okanagan, Kal, Wood, etc. At least the campgrounds will be empty

it is definitely going to be a long time. i suspect a lot of lakes will be few weeks late opening this year.
in vernon they had car races on swan lk. some years the ice is starting to melt around the edges by now.
as superjoe said, it has been minus 15 this week although today it is warmer with 4 inches of snow ! i have 4 feet of snow on my garden!
