Does anyone use rooftop tents? Like these

I'm looking for something that's compact, to get in/out of alpine lakes, often down ugly FSR craters. Might mount it on top of my SUV, perhaps on top of my ATV/pontoon boat trailer.
I used to have a 25' 5th wheel trailer, loved it, but just too big to get into some spots. Plus I don't even have a p/u anymore.
Most of my trips would be weekend's perhaps solo

i have seen and spoken to owners of these. they like them for all the reasons you mentioned, but have issues with cold underneath and levelling when up high. when raining the floor stays drier than on gravel.
