bergy	Posted: 12/3/2008 11:23:51 AM Reply Hey has anyone been to St. mary resort on Salt Spring Island. I heard that there are trout and Bass in the lake. ( never fished intentionally for bass before )We were planning to go for a 4 day trip in june next year. Any info would be good Thanks Dave
Dogbreath	Posted: 12/4/2008 11:03:46 AM Reply I've stayed at St Mary Lake Resort years past the little cabins were fine, although I prefer Cedar Beach and Lakeside Gardens. It depends whether or not fishing will be hot if it's a cold spring Bass may not have turned on yet but the Cutthroat can be good. Use smaller lures in darker colours, the exception being a chartreuse crankbait they work well usually.
bcbasser	Posted: 12/10/2008 6:09:12 PM Reply man that lake is loaded with smallies and big trout and when your bass fishing the trout will hit the bass baits so either way your set the only times ive went was in the late fall but june would be unreal due to the massive fish population but a word of advice book your cabins far ahead and there boats suck so i would bring my own and its electric motor only but you could row it easily you could even use a float tube and they dont supply motors
