Today I spent several hours on Chehalis River below the hatchery. Plenty of fresh Cohos in the channel, but haven't seen any in the river (hiked all the way down to the main channel, then up the main channel and back through the bushes). Looks like this was just an early run that quickly went up the river straight into the channel. Now they all sitting there causing fishing fever to all the bystanders. A lot more Cohos are expected later in November.
Water is very low and by the amount of bushes growing in the channel one can assume that even in better days water level is not coming up. Poor river...
Later in the day drove to the bridge - there are dozen fellows fishing in fast water. They told me that 3 Cohos been caught today.

Ugly chums packed right at the entry, but down the hatchery channel there are lot's of Coho.

yeah the coho run was very short lived with that rain before im going out on the next rain should be good .
