Sorry for my newbyness, but this is a rainbow trout, right?
I caught/released it in Capilano river.

looks to me like a jack coho for the cap.i see a couple black spots on the top part of the tail.was the adipose fin clipped?

yep its a jack coho, how small of a hook where you using and where did you catch that, thats teenie...

I caught it about 200mts down the cable pool bridge in a small pond. According to some maps it should be where it's called it coho loop.
I used a panther martin spinner.
I copy pasted the pic from panther martin's website, so my actual spinner had a single barbless hook.
Regarding the adipose fin, perhaps it was badly clipped, because it was more like a pimple what it had.
I'm new to this stuff of fishing in BC and I hate to hear stories about declining local fish populations so I always release them.

This is another pic (same fish), but without my thumb.
I don't see adipose fin around there...
So what exactly is the diff. between jack coho and coho?
By the way, in 3 casts I caught 2 in that pond, I even think that it was the same fish.

A jack coho, or any other jack, is a male that has returned early to spawn. An immature male.
