Just wondering where i should be lookin to fish this time of year, tryin for chinook at the vedder and no luck yet. I'm useing the float method with all the prober gear (rod/reel), and using roe for bait. My length from float to hook is about 4' and hook to swivle about 18". I was fishing at the lickman rd spot for practise (any tips for this area?)but now i'm tryin past vedder crossing area. Also should u fish to the inside of a bend in the river or to the outside?
Thanks alot, Dubz.

Heres a map that'll be helpful:

There will be more fish this fall, don't be discouraged that you didn't catch anything this summer, the run is much smaller.
Come October just experiment until you connect with something. You'll find that adjusting the length of line from float to sinker depending on the depth so that your presentation is just off the bottom will greatly improve your chances. You're already using roe, so just give it time. If you want to try spinners, try colorado blades, fished the same way (drift with float). Spin n glows are another option.
For springs try neon green wool. Make sure your got the tension set on your reel and hold on tight.
