I spent a bit of time up around there and I heard you can catch large bulltrout in the river. There is a trophey river around there called Blackstone but I am not sure of the access.

there is tonnes of fishing aroung pg i think eddy means the blackwater every direction you go you can get yur rod wet. my family spent alot of time west to fraser lake francois lake and our favourite was babine but it is about 4 hours to babine well worth the drive. even around vanderhoof (one our west) there are endless lakes and rivers

Hey:
There's lots of places up around PG, but a lot of Bull trout and grayling, both blue listed species, IIRC. So it's mostly catch and release.
You might want to pick up a copy of the latest Backroad Mapbook for the area (then again, the new one is due out in the next couple of months, so you might want to borrow one from the library) and see what you can see. But some names that jump to mind are the Parsnip, Nechako, Crooked...a little thing called the Fraser, depending on what you're looking for...If you don't mind a bit of a drive, the Skeena is about six hours away or so....

No prob with the catch and release as thats what I do 99% of the time. Ideally I would like to get out of PG with an hours drive. I perfer rivers over lakes. Still gotta hit the local fly shop. Tomorrow!

I am planning to go out to the Crooked River as it was recommended by the local shop that seems to sell fishing gear on the side as hunting seems the name of the game in this town. Anyone know of anygood shops in town or in Q or V?
