Can anyone recommend bait size and line test for landing them kokanee in Osoyoos lake. is this the only salmon that is available in the lake.

bait size - what they can get in their mouths.
line strength - whatever will not break when they get the bait in their mouth.

I wouldn't even bother trying to catch Kokanee this late in the season. The ONLY time that you can catch Kokes in Osoyoos lake is in the early spring. Osoyoos lake is the warmest lake in Canada most fish in the trout and Kokes disappear into the depths at the beginning of June. Try fishing for some bronze backs at the north end of the lake along the shore where you can find cover. You'll have much better luck. The average small mouth in the lake is about 4.5 lbs! Tubes and crank baits will be your best bet. Good luck...

the smallies are pretty big but the average is not 4 and a half pounds you could prabably do pretty good for largemouth but remmember the point of bass fishing is not to keep the fish but to let it go and it will get bigger and you can catch it again

The thing to do with all bass is KILL them so they do not grow big. I kill every bass i catch in BC. Being an old Ontario guy i know very well how to catch them.
