I will be camping at Fairmont Hot Springs mid-july and have 2 small children I would like to take fishing. Is there anything close that wouldn't require a boat, perhaps streams or rivers. As well any advice on tackle would be greatly apprecitated.
Thanks

lots of fishing here.Just south of FHS the columbia river starts and there is good fishing in there using lures. There is good road access to numerous spots.Spur lake is just south of FHS and is a sweet little lake.Landed a 2 lber there last week.If you have a boat then you can get onto some of the ''trophy lakes'' in the area. You could rent one in invermere.Living in the area so I have more info available just not for on here

Thanks for the info.Premier Lake and Whiteswan Lake were mentioned to me. Do you know much about them?

yeah, very popular, great fishing, big fish, they could be consindered a couple of the ''trophy lakes'' but there are quieter spots just as good or better.Whiteswan has a big sedge hatch first couple weeks of july.

flyfishn, How successful would we be with spinners, worms etc as we would not be fly fishing?
Thanks

you got as good or better chance of catching the real big ones 6-8lbs with tackle [willow leaf set ups seem to catch a lot of big fish here in the lakes]Anyways heading to whiteswan right now so I gotta go and match the hatch.
What days are you coming up

Thanks. Would worms/bobbers work at Whiteswan as this would be the easiest for my daughters.
