It feels like it's that time again to take out my fly rod. I'm sitting here in my chair and just intching to get out to a lake or stream. I'd really like to go to Ivey lake this year. Ivey lake is up in pemberton with trout ranging 11 lbs. It's a trophy lake so only C&R. Also I'd like to reurn to the similkameen river where last year I've caught 30 fish in 4 hours using a fly i tied. that was fun

I drove by the Similkameen and stopped to get a better look yesterday. I'm not sure how the fishing is yet, but I can't wait to get a fly in the river. Such a beautiful river system. Where were you fishing? Stemwinder? Red bridge? I think I'm going to take my canoe down there this spring. Just not sure where a good place to start is? Bromley Rock? What do ya think?

I stayed at the Bromley rock campsite. I lucked out becuase on saturday it was overcast and cold so nobody was swimming. I went to the day use area at Bromley rock and that is where I caught 30 rainbows. need your waders and get as close as you can to the big rock. They hide in the deep pools and if the see anything floating over they will rise. I had a beaver swim a foot away from my leg. Scariest moment ever cos i thought he is gonna start chewing on my leg. :O

We've hit Ivey the last week of Aug. & the first week of Sept. Amazing gomphid dragonfly hatch but they are very picky. Big fish, used to be flyfishing only but someone said they allow hardware now. Catch & release single barbless hook. Other than that it's a pretty tough lake due to the pressure from the cabin folks, there are a bunch of them there with docks and I swear everyone in them flyfishes.

Orerockon1, welcome aboard. But you do realize you are responding to some very old threads right? Some of those guys probably aren't even around anymore...
