Fished the canal with a buddy. MANY PINKS AROUND. SUPER FUN. First time out this year. Was wondering where all the chums were! I love fighting them. Managed to beach 4 nice pinks! Some were massive with large humps! Got em in the smoker as im typing!! Roe was working good with a 3ft leader and a small bettie!!!

Stave River is good for duking chum... But I think it's too early still. I Wonder??

There is no need to bottom bounce through massive schools of pinks. There is no need to bottom bounce on the vedder period!

How many pinks are you alowed to keep in the vedder? Do they have to be hatchery?

Bottom bouncing is ok. You snag the odd fish but get most in the mouth. I was at it again yesterday. Used green wool and a slightly longer leader than before. Landed many pinkers. Bonked one nice one with a very big hump. Also on a side note I snagged 3 or 4 in the tail. Is this because They were "tail whipping" it??

WENT FOR THE 3rd day of the week today! Did fairly well fishing up top area ..Limit hole I believe. Only about 50% were snagged. Please dont go jump on me. I never did it intentionally. Got my limit of 4. Some nice ones with big humps also were bagged.
