Hello All, I'm back from my weekend up at Jones Lake...
Between the 4 of us, 1 fish kept and two others released. All three fish were caught old school... Float, weight and worm...
Trolling was a bit of a task and unsuccessful. I tried all sorts of willow leaf with wedding bands (red, black and green) and Apexs (orange and green). I tried without the willow leaf also We spent 6 hours straight on Sunday, in the water and got 1 hit. I think our biggest issue was the time of day, we got out there late
It seems to troll Jones Lake you need to stay closer to the middle to stay away from the snags. There are a lot of stumps within 100+ yards of shore. I barely used the downrigger.
The good news The road going up wasnt bad at all. My trailer didnt rub once and I didnt need 4x anywhere...
Its a beautiful lake and the fish are there, Just need to learn to catch them
As mentioned in another post, BC Hydro is not charging for camping. On Saturday afternoon a BC hydro truck pulled up to our campsite, jotted down the 2 vehicle owners names, dropped off some firewood (for free) and wished a good time! Great place to camp (although I really dont understand the chain linked fence), I cant wait to go back.
