Would like to get some feedback from some of you fishermen experienced with Kawkawa. I've heard it has some good rainbow and kokanee fishing in the fall. Can anyone say if it's too early for fall fishing in the lake? I've heard it's a warm water lake, so may have to wait for later in the fall. Also, can you catch kokanee in the fall. Don't they spawn this time of year?
Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance and cheers

Awesome fishing here for good size kokes up until the middle of august. They are spawning now I believe so I would try another lake. Another note: there are many, many small coho in here. Many people believe that they are rainbows but some fish are actually juvenille coho.

Thanks for the info MrGrey1 and BaitFisher. So I'll conclude no to Kokanee fishing in the fall but yes to rainbow (and maybe small coho?). Are they caught the same way? Would it be worth waiting a bit longer for the temperature cool down any more? Cheers all.

just flipping through old topics... Right now Kawkawa is amazing. people catching their limits in 15 minutes. Baitfisher is right about the coho because i caught 2 about 13 inches and they fight like crazy.

Is this lake still fishing well right now. Does trolling a worm work.

no... it has cooled off now. there are still a few being caught but u have to work a lot harder. before any lure that moved water would catch a coho

went to kawkawa yesterday, seen lotsa fish on the finder and seen few jumpers, only caught one myself, was way too rainy, lasted hour or so on the water. seen a good many bunched up at about 20-25 feet down at the cliff face. tried some gang trolls with no luck and picked up the one on a buzz bomb like jig. was my first time there, any advise on what works good for the kokanee at this lake?

Any small pink or orange lure 6" to 1' behind a gang troll will catch kokes
