Should you just re-line a purchased pre-lined lure to the lead line you want, or try to put the two lines together?

here is the consideration. with a snag your already loosing a lure right? if the leader is heavier than mainline you risk also loosing weights or even float. if you run slightly lighter leader than mainline you only loose the lure.
