We went down to Cates Park last night and saw 6-8 boats and 2 people fishing from shore. There were fish jumping all around but not one person caught anything in the 30 minutes we were there.
If I get my husband to lug our little boat down there and we don't catch a salmon I'm going to be in BIG trouble.
What is the secret to catching those pinks? Please help.

Okthe fish are at the surface so go by the light house or the bay next to it to your right. cast pink spoons and use a slow to medium retrieve. jigging off the bottom with buzzbombs work good to. cast towards the shore.

Good for you! I have been down to Cates 4-5 times in the past week and have seen only the boaters catching fish. I have yet to see anyone catch a fish from shore.
Last night only 2 of the 8 boaters got fish, and one looked liked it was snagged. There were about 10 fishers on the beach and no one caught a thing.

tonnes in the mamquam and cheak right now, caught about 50 in a day floating and NOT snagging, it just took a little longer and was a little harder but if you use a fly with uv flash then you can catch them in the mouth rather than everywhere but
