the best bet is the same setup as sockeye(although frowned upon by some anglers)youre leader should be at least as long as youre rod, 3 or 4 0 hook and any color wool will do.this is the best chance of hooking a fish the longer the leader the more area you cover.there are other ways to catch these fish but this is by far the most productive and most contraversial (bad spelling)

Another way to fish for them is barfishing. Here is an helpful article.

your telling someone to floss springs? springs bite readily, maybe you just suck at catching them..... DFO let you guys floss sockeye forall these years and now u guys floss every species in every river its disgusting. short floating is my choice for springs, fat roe sacks or spoons and blades short floated. thats a river float with a weight(i prefer pencil lead/ harnes) heavy enough to balance the float and then max 24" leader. play with runing depth depending on location.

Flossing for springs work, but in reality, it works for any fish in a river...
A good way to catch springs is by bar fishing or pulling plugs such as the Topic and anything by Thunderstrike (ie. Wiggle Wart). Springs will actually bite, so a bar rig will work very well, and it allows you to sit and have a beer...or two...or three...

yeah screw flossing man. what a joke. Have a little pride and actually CATCH a fish. Call me a hippy, but I believe it is an insult to that fish you SNAG. It has overcome so many obstacles to make it this far and you can't even take the time to entice it into making a mistake... and just let the hook drift into it's mouth...disgusting. Get some spin n glows or hell, some monsta spoons and go to work.

thats kind of how i think about it, its tampering with natural selection. the smartest/ strongest fish are suposed to survive, but if they get flossed they never had a chance, and even released risk death from trauma. bad karma in my books!
