anyone been to loon lake lately, if so how was it/ what did you use etc.

I was at Loon lake in early June.
We trolled a small flat fish with a frog pattern on it.
My wife used a small spoon with a frog pattern ( see a pattern here?)We caught tons of fish. We put 99% back we kept some real nice trout.
We stayed at Evergreen resort, The whole week was wonderful despite the wet weather.Can't wait until next year as the resort is fully booked till late Sept.

it was pretty bad for me, only caught two fish and they were both pretty small but my dad caught a 2 lb beauty, i guess its crappier in the summer

Hi Bass Master 99,
We were at Loon lake in late July. There were rainbow trout jumping all around lots of the time. We caught several, released the smaller ones and kept just the biggest ones. They were biting green Doc Spratlys as well as red ones, pretty much the whole day until 9 p.m. We trolled from 1.5 to 3 colors (lead core). Look out for the bald eagle couple! They will steal your catch right out of the hook. They're very experienced and usually hover 10 feet above the boat as you're reeling it in. When you release the smaller fish, if it does not dive deep at once, the eagle will still get it. Tight lines and bent rods!
