Author Topic: bar fishing - how do you cast
fishernanion

I read some articles about bar fishing and the recommendation for rod is a heavy one, kind of 15-30 lb. and the lead weight can go up to 20 oz, depending on river considions.
How do you cast this weight?
On some heavy rods it is written 3 or 4 oz as the maximum weight, and I think this is for the usual overhead casting.
Can you cast 20 oz with a heavy rod but only 15-25 lb? or you can go up to 15 oz only.

you cast carefully. You have to lob it... not chuck it
