hmmmmm that's tougher that it sounds because I know the way in but not the street names. Pegleg is a HUGE gravel bar that becomes exposed during times of low water. I do mean huge. Maybe 400 acres. Lots of people go there to ride dirt bikes etc. It not a place I would want to go to in order to get away from it all. When the fish are running it can be a bit of a gong show....not as bad as the Vedder. It is accessed through downtown Chilliwack. I will google it & try to work it out.

Hope River road to McSween, north on McSween till you hit the water.

You made my day. Thank you for those directions. I herd this place gets busy however I will only be there for one day & night, then moving on to somewhere else. We (my friends and I) just want to be near the water for the time we are there and enjoy the veiws.

I think Pegleg is underwater right now and will be for a while till the water levels drop in August.

Yes I have just resently herd that too. What were looking for then is just a quick one night stop near or around Popkum Rd. We dont want to stay at a campground and pay for one night either. We're looking for a free near the water spot to hang out before we embark on the rest of our journey.

You had stated that you intended to go in August, so I figured the timing to be right. If the water is still a bit high at that time, it is still possible to camp there, probably better, due to less yahoos. There is higher ground that will be dry. It all depends on access. As the time grows nearer we will know better. Check back in 2 weeks to have a better idea.

I have not been to Pegleg lately, but I know that the river has dropped a lot in the past 10 days. It has been dropping by almost a foot a day. Lots of bars are starting to show. Pegleg , I'm guessing to be around half way exposed.

6.2 m at this point (Hope, BC). You can monitor water levels at the Hope water station and will give you an idea at very least, just accept the disclaimer and off you go (http://scitech.pyr.ec.gc.ca/waterweb/disclaimerB.asp). FYI
