be carful about parking i have heard that the city put up a ton of signage to try and reduce the amount of users on the river.the vedder is one of those rivers that you can jump out of your car and walk down the river until you find somthin that 's suit's you. enjoy the crouds.

You are right...the Vedder River area...all along Chilliwack Lake Rd, has big concrete blocks at EVERY spot where you can pull in and park. There is no longer ANY overnight camping etc except designated PAY camping. If they catch you...they tow your vehicle first...and then wake you up in your tent and fine you! This is all of course thanks to inconsiderate IDIOTS who leave their garbage behind when they are done USING the land, and of course the guys chopping stop signs down for firewood, and we cant forget the PIGS who take a dump and leave toilet paper all over. I also notice that alot of fisherman (if we can call them that) are complete pigs with their used lines, packaging for lures, beer cans and bottles....you figure by now...people would know to LEAVE IT CLEANER THAN YA FOUND IT!! But what the hell...the river cleans itself...right?

not sure about the height of the river assuming its high there are probably fish in the top end there are some good pools above the crossing if you can get there .try going over the tamahi bridge make a right on the gravel road drive to the gate and fish there (osbourn rd )not a bad spot for early fish you can fish the tail if theres a good flow these fish like a strong flow.3 to 4 hours after a high tide fish can be had in the slough(bottom end)they are roe pigs good luck

We were there for 12 hrs. today with about 10 other fishermen but no one is catching yet. It is actually my first time by the vedder behind the vedder campsite with a veteran fisherman teaching me river fishing 101. The place is awesome and we manage to see 2 deers within 20 feet.
