If you're going to the Vedder this weekend, do everyone a favour. Use a little etiquette !! There a cars everywhere , especially around Tamihi. Yes there are lots of fish around, especially big springs, but that doesn't mean YOU'RE going to hook one. You still have to know what you're doing. Which brings me to the point of this rant. Have some respect for you're fellow angler and don't just barge in next to him because he's getting a good drift or hooked a few fish. If you're going to stand relatively close to someone ask them if you're giving them enough room. Relatively close does not mean less than 10 feet !!! Don't try bottom bouncing or spincasting lures amongst a crowd of float fisherman because no one knows where your line is. Now is not the time to learn how to river fish, at least not at the Vedder. Oh yeh, the water level is dropping, landed 3 spring (1 at 40#)busted off 3 others, 1 chum and 1 pink, no cohos. Saw lots of foul hooked springs headed back to the Fraser heh.

Much better today than last week. Water is back to a reasonable level, but still kind of dirty. Hauled in 2 springs myself and lost about 10 more. I saw the odd coho and chum, but they were a minority.

Kingfisher is right!!! i lost one fish due an angler ignoring the rule of the river. It's just as nice to catch a fish as it to see someone else land theirs!!

To Kingfisher in regards to your rant, it is my opinion that no matter how much experience an angler has at float, bottom bouncing, spin casting or fly casting we all have the right to fish the same area. Why not learn at a river where you know that you have a good chance to catch a fish on your first outing. The Vedder is a big river and with some courtesy to others and lots of patience we'll all enjoy this awsome fishery
