I have my mind set on a 9'0 10-25 lbs test spinning rod set up. i was wonering if this is good only for the river, trolling, and for salmon. and i was wonding if this is way to heavy for trout. thank you. John

It would be ideal for salmon. It is not ideal for float fishing as I have discussed before but will do the job if need be. The rod is weighted nicely for all types of salmon but may be on the heavy side for trout. You can fish trout with it no prob, but you may not get the same fight as if you were using a small fly rod or ultralight spinning combo. It will do the job for trolling as well. What make of rod is it?
