Anyone out there get out a few times in the winter and do some ice fishing?

ive gone with some friends a couple times but i dont have a oger so i cant really do it by myself. Ive only gone up by pemberton and havent caught that much. where do you usually go and what do you catch?

Bear lake for rainbows. I live in Oliver, so it's only a 30 minute drive from town. Catch usually 15 each, around the 12-16 inch range. Pulled out a nice 3 pounder last year.

ive never been to bear although i have been to madden lake. How is ripley in the summer and what should I use both spincast and fly wise?And also we got skunked at madden using worms but what could i use there as well?

In the summer, the best things to use in Bear are probably, dragon nymphs, ants, leeches and shrimp. Madden lake is bessed fishing in the fall by trolling with a leech, shrimp, or nymph along the south edge. If you want, I have a map of Bear lake where there are killer spots for ice-fishing. I've never tried madden for ice-fishing.
