Well, I was at my local pond, not five minutes from my house when the elusive Bread Hatch came off the water. Various species were seen in the water, including the rare "whole-grain" fly. If you looked at the water close enough, you could see the Butter-Crusts shucking the crust. With such a dense hatch, the carp were boiling the surface. Here are some pics of me with the carp, about 11 pounds. There is also a pic of me showing some kids how its done. The fly of choice was a hacked to shit old Tomb-Thumb which is perfect for imitating the various species of bread flies that land on the water.

Nope, no golf course. Its just in the middle of a small comunity park. Theres tonnes in there, plus the "submarine", this huge ass white Carp that is like four feet long and you can just see it as a shadow pass by every now and then. There are also catfish in there.

 ..lol....every fishermans got a bigg story of there catch but never give the location to let otheres enjoy ..lol...classsic.....thats surrey lake ..enjoy..lol

hey dude i took those pics of you!!!
dont be sharing our secret spot, or were going to have to deal with a hundred more soccer moms telling us to quit fishing, ah well at least we can tell them to put their dogs back on leashes.
Ps the submarine is a coy fish, not a carp. but man those were great carp eh... nothing funner than fighting those on the fly.

Hahhahahaah, Heres the story, you don't have to ask me:
Middle of January, we thought "hey, why not?"
Here is why not to: Ice was on lake, our bad. Also discovered a hole in my waders. Not fun. Caught nothing. Hands got so numb that I could not pull off my waders. Worst ever. Never go in a float tube in the middle of Jan when there is ice on a lake. Just horrible. But we had a bottle of Wieser to warm us up on the walk - hell, it was like the longest, coldest walk slash trek ever- to the truck.

Like I said, never go to a lake in January that has ice on part of it with a hole in your waders and no gloves. That shinanigans took twenty minutes to get my waders off. Just horrible.
