Topic: Skagit Trout Fishing |

I'm a fanatical flyfisherman but just discovered the Skagit near Hope. Have scouted a few places (and been drilled by mosquitos) but there is so much water that i haven't really found the right holes. Any advice for this time of year?

Not sure about spots, cause I've only fished that river once, but I know for this time of year, I'd stick to nymphing it, but take along an assortment of dries as I remember that the one time i did fish it, it was in September, and there was a mayfly hatch coming off. Case caddis and stoneflies, but make sure they are iether internaly wieghted, or bead-head.

i went up there in August and found great spots all along the road to Ross Lake...just walk in and go along, there are tons of pools etc...

There is a suspension bridge close to Ross lake. You can fish both side of the big pool under the bridge. Beware of mosquitos. Good luck.
