Hey all,
Hopeing to do some bass fishing on Vaseaux lake this weekend - Any tips? Any reports on the fishing there lately?
I haven't been bass fishing since I lived in Ontario as a kid - Can't wait to try out vaseaux!

I'm a local, living in Oliver right now. The bass fishing there right now is killer! Smallies have almost taken over the whole lake, and they're aggressive. 2 weeks ago, I went fishing on the south end of the lake, were it feeds into the river, and did quite well. I caught one 3.5 pounder, a couple of 1-2 pounders, and the rest were all in the 12 inch range. We aslo saw some monsters around 4-5 pounds. If your into spincast fishing, use a Green, cut tail jig. If you want to try your luck with flyfishing, popping is your best bet. Use a cork popper over a deer hair, and try it over a big weed-bed. I should have some pictures by next week and will post them.

Cool! I was there this morning but only caught a carp. We don't have any kind of boat so can't get out on the lake  . Do you know of a place nearby that maybe rents canoes? We're thinkign of going back early monday morning.
I caught the carp with my buzz-bomb on the first cast - and then on the next cast my line snapped! Oh well.
I'll have to try some jigs.

I just belly boat in the first Lagoon if I don't have access to an aluminum. Sorry, but I don't know where to rent canoes. the closest spot that I can think of would be somewhere in Penticton.
