Hello:
I was just wondering how the fishing is at Gallagher Lake near Oliver in BC. Also, are there any other good fishing places within walking distance of that lake? I am staying at a KOA there soon.

I've lived in Oliver my whole life. The best local lakes are Bear(Ripley), Madden, and Vaseux. I would try Vaseux right now; the bass fishing is killer. Last week I caught a 3.5 lb smallie, and a couple dozen 12-14 inchers. If you don't have a boat, just go off the shore, on the very sharp corner about 500 meters before the campsites. However, if you have access to a boat, try near the west side of the island or the mouth of the river.
