hey guys. a buddy at work was at the nicomen sloough the other day first thing in the morning. managed to land a nice 4 lb coho on a pink florescent salmon roe setup. landed and released many pinks as well. said he was near the fishing boundary sign on the fraser. any thoughts or success on the slough?

Hmm. This is a good sign! Nicomen Slough is a famous place for Coho. But in most cases you need a boat to troll in the lower section of the slough.

Alex, that is not the olny method to catch them.
I've caught coho on the in the slough form shore. No boat, no trolling, just good old casting and if enough current, swinging.

Michael, what kind of lures you were using for Coho? Blue Fox? Colorado blades?

None of the above. Always go out with a fly rod.
Usually nail em on the rolled muddler #8 or #10's. Buddy of mine is always hooking them up. Tough to beat him fishing I tell ya.
Also, a modified version of a christmas tree, but with a red bead head. Green flashabou with pearlescent flashabou for body on nickle plated or SS streamer hook.

Hey, just came across an old thread. I was wondering, what this place is like. The pics of it look like a fly fishermans dream for Coho. I was wondering how good this place really is. Any info would help. Also, is it open year round? And the report says it has Dollies and Rainbows too. Is this true, and are they resident. I want to head up there soon, but if it is really more of a coho fishery, I'm not sure if its worth the drive. Any info would help.
