has anyone fished morgan lake this year, i made a quick stop there this weekend while 4x4ing. looked beautiful, would love to try fishing it, what fly's would be recomended? made a quick stop at florance lake aswell wrote a report here's a picture from the road.

well i tried...and failed misserably. i KNOW there are fish in morgan lake just not any i could catch on a fly... still interested in any info anyone might have on the lake.

Just want to clear up that the lake in the image in the top post is Florence Lake as viewed from the 19km "cliff" on the Florence FSR. Morgan is smaller and downstream of Florence, no overlooks from the road (just peeks of water through the trees as you drive by).
Can't offer tips for flies as I am a gear fisherman currently but Florence and Morgan are very fickle. Many days with no bites and some days the fish are leaping at you.

I went in about the middle of October and didn't catch anything

I went at the beginning of October with a friend and a canoe. Trolled around the lake with a willow leaf and got two to the boat over ~6 hours. Both were in the 12-14 inch range. Tried trolling deep and it didn't have and effect. Casted from shore and had one bite in roughly an hour, didn't get it to shore though. It's a tough lake to fish, deceptively deep and not much for water flowing into the lake.

I went In november and didn't catch anything, tried multiple lures, and bait casting.
