Very strange judgement . You have to carry your boat or float tube to the lake apparently plus it is c+r. I have not read the judgement yet but plan to. Might have further comment.

After reading the judgement I understand what the Judge said and why. Interesting reading but long... The case is Douglas Lake Cattle Company v Nicola Fish and Game. The citation # 2018 BCSC 2167.

Great Im so glad this has happend -people are already startin to go there and explore the whole town of Kamloops is very happy, hopfully Silvermere lake too gets this so all can enjoy fishing and boating and not have locked gates and Angry boaters swamp you

We’re also hoping to be able to ice fish on this lake and catch brollies too , but a guide from the lake said there is a goldfish bloom happening in many upper Merritt lakes , making it hard to catch trout

If you were to read the judgement you would realize that Silvermere is indeed a private lake. It is man made. Natural lakes are public.
The judgement refers to and land that was flooded and is not public.
The original lake body is public.
