Noone fishing for sockeye?
Havent fished and come here for about last 2 years and it seems nothing much is happening here.
Anyways I was at peg leg, laidlaw, and the bar near scale on the opening day, and got my 2 socks at the last spot in less than half an hour despite my long hideout.
It was very snaggy at peg leg and no fish was seen in the morning until 8am.
Saw many fish being caught at laidlaw until noon, but no luck for me due to too heavy of the bouncing betties I had, 1.5 - 2oz betties would have been ideal for the current.
Please I really dont want to see ethics debate over bbing/flossing. I will simply ignore such replies.
Thanks.

so you snag your two fish then continue to fish for more. Sad.

Cagey if you read correctly, i got skunked at peg leg and laidlaw, and you are right, I snagged 2 near scale bar.
You know what? I would rather snag my own when i am legally allowed to do than buy a commercially snagged, gill netted, fish.
Also since i live in Okanagan i cant be out there snagging everyday and they probably are my only 2 socks until next sock season.
I am very sad to see you accusing me of illegally keeping more than i was allowed. I thought i showed you how a law abiding fisherman I am when we fished together in multiple occasions and, also I always treated you with respect and consideration, remember kokanees? Fresh and frozen?
I havent followed through since the last fishing we did together on Phillips due to busy schedule; i literally hadnt fished from sept 2016 to june 2018 because of studying. I am going into 3rd year of the program i am in at ubco.
Anyways, i was quite surprised and sad to see this site being slow; i know how precious this site is to you, hence decided to report my recent fishing experience here to contribute.
Hope alls good and well with you.
Take care,
Asian J

Thanks for your post. Damn those fillets look delicious.

I will try my first attempt at harvesting 2 fish tomorrow. Once my limit is hit (if) I will be done.

You will quit just as JG did. I know he is a sportsman . I just failed grade 1 reading tests. I am embarrassed for my stupidity!

Managed my 2 fish in just over an hour and was left scratching my left nut to figure out what to do for the rest of the day.

Went back early this morning and harvested 2 more in just under an hour, before the Commercial opening cleanses the river for the next 3 days.

Long way to travel for just 2 fish. so spent the rest of the day exploring and chatting. Might have to try an over night trip for max efficiency.

Depending where you are fishing there are places to target springs once you are finished with sox. I fished on the north side of the river between Aggasis and Hope sever peak runs ago. The hords were lined up for a mile while a couple of guys were floating a rapids/corner a ways upstream. I walked upstream to see why they were where they were and soon realized why. A gorgeous 20 plus red spring was being landed as I got there.

Good point had not thought about that. Might need to upgrade my gear a bit.

All good cagey!
Everyone makes mistakes, and I should have thought about me being forgotten.
I am not sure I will have time to make it to Thompson this year, but I am sure I will fish with you again in the future.
