I have had the slowest start to the fishing season. Three trips to Madden and two to Yellow. I almost forget what it is like to have a fish on my line. Is it the crazy weather, no insect life, I Don't believe it is me.

I have limited experience and don't fish that area much. However, I note that both lakes are quite low in elevation and I know in the Merritt area lakes above 3600 have been fishing well?

up this end of the valley the insets are hatching like crazy. As Gearbox said the flying ant hatch was huge but only lasted about 2 days. The damsels and dragons are very early and in large numbers. Mosquitoes are setting records ! Yellow might be "off" due to the slide???? All I can suggest is you come north, catch fish and get that old motor. I need someone to drag me out fishing instead of working so hard around the property!

Tunkwa was good this weekend dragging a vampire leech, slow retrieve on a damsel nymph or chironomids (chromies, rusty nail or screaming viking).
