Has anyone caught any salmon in this part of the fraser river, just inland of the most-northern mouth of the river?
I've gone fishing here twice, at Deer Island Park, casting out with Blue Fox vibrax and croc spoons, and caught nothing. Not even a bite.
The salmon would have to swim up past the Wreck Beach jetty to enter the river... so I'm wondering if they enter through here? Its too bad I haven't caught anything here cuz I live so close...

Sorry it's not an area I have fished.
You should try googling fishing the Fraser North Arm, for example you will find something like this:

good luck.

@Knnn
The north arm has two mouths, one being northern boundary of YVR and the other being the southern. In that post, FishingWithRod is talking about an area more inland, where these two meet.
I've scoured the internet for this. The only reason I think salmon may not return through the most northern section of the north arm is because there is a 3km jetty stretching from YVR to Wreck beach. It is quite shallow, stagnant, and used as a storage space for logs.
My artistic image hopefully shows what I'm trying to say better. I appreciate the input though. Do you think salmon would migrate using that path?
To be fair I've caught plenty of fingerling coho off of wreck beach, so maybe they do swim that route??

Also the Iona sewage treatment plant chucks out millions of gallons of "treated" sewage at the end of that causeway, which may have impacted fish migration. Sorry I don't know much else.
You might want to try posting on some of the other fishing forums and event the fly only forums where there are more experienced anglers (who do other types of fishing) and may have some knowledge of this section of the river. GL.
