morning Yak. I'm thinking that your spot could be discovered with a little detective work. Smart and observant people will figure it out. A question for you; Have you ever played a spring & been worried about getting wet?

I have played a big spring, the secret is the drag... And i dont mean drag as in drag me outta my chair...hahahah
for real though, this is my first year that i have really done any river fishing at all as i am almost stricktly a stillwater fly guy. I have had a spring on in the 15-20 pound range but it broke off after about 10mins of fight. I was using a 7 foot Lamiglas spin rod, so not really what you want to land a spring with.heheheh. I bought myself an 8.5 foot Shimano Claris this week, still quite light but im confidant i can land one with it. It'll just take some finess. Besides I'm only really targeting coho and dollies/bulls anyway.
Some friends of mine told me they found this sweet spot.."we can totally get you into and there good fishing!" So off I went. I dont care if people find out my little spot cause its only big enough for 1 or 2 people. most guys who see me coming have no problem giving up there spot anyway as they can walk the river and find a new one and i cant, so i dont think it's too much of a problem. Plus the guys i go fishing with most people wouldnt want to mess with anyway. hehehehe Also nothing a bit of bear spray wont fix. JK hehehe
My friends have to do a little lifting and I'm in, and then its all good
