I was thinking of heading out there if it warms up a little to target pretty much anything (crappie, bass, catfish, carp...) I have a boat and have a rough idea where to lunch it and where to fish but am unsure about techniques and bait/lures (never fished there before). any tips would be much appreciated.

I've had my truck broken into in that area recently. Smashed my window to steal a couple CDs, my lunch box and some gas receipts.... not safe anywhere these days but just a heads up FYI.
I have a lot of luck with top water poppers for bass and small spinners/spoons/wedding bands for bass and crappie.
