hi everyone i'm brand new to the forum and i am planning a trip to fishtrap creek. does anyone know how the fishing has been and if so what should i be using and where.

I was there not too long ago and it was pretty dead, lillypads were in full swing too. I only had a few nibbles from some small pumpkinseeds, but there are some nice sized bass in there. Try the main bridge or the small point that's directly across from the main pier... probably the only spots that will have open water and no lilies. I usually use spoons/spinners/wedding bands and have good luck. Could try throwing a jig into the lilies or worms off a float.

Thanks for the advice I'm still going sometime soon but I plan on fishing a weed less top water frog over the lilies.

I would probably try a wacky rigged senko (yum dinger), or other soft plastic baits....real slow pop/sink retrieval. Top water is always worth a shot too.
