Just wondering if anyone has caught some salmon yet and if they have can they tell me the tricks to the trade? (I can't catch salmon like ever)

Wait 2 months and fish with anything pink almost anywhere and you should catch some salmon.

Knnn covered it. Pink salmon will be coming into the Fraser in later summer. Anything pink from shore on either a spinning setup(spinners, spoons, small spin n glow) or a fly rod 5 to 6 weight ideal.
If you can't wait an extra few weeks when they pour into the Fraser... Squamish run comes slightly earlier. Google for more info.

Fraser River Pink fishing seems to peak around the first three weeks of Sept, but much the same gear and techniques also work for Fraser River Coho when they open in Oct. I find the Coho are almost as easy to catch, but be sure to carefully release the wild ones. Many people also bar fish for Coho on the Fraser with good results, however that seems to take more skill and patience.
