Recently moved to Vernon and looking for a productive fly fishing spot close to town.
Where is the trail access to Deep Lake? I have been google searching and can't find directions. Do you use the the S Park Trail in Kalamalka park?
Any help appreciated.

Deep Lake is on private land owned by Coldstream Ranch. They cut off access years ago due to abuse by those that used it. I doubt things have changed but you could enquire at the ranch

I know it's on private property but no one has the right to restrict access to a lake stocked with tax payer dollars. BCs lakes are a public resource.
I've heard people still fish it and once in your belly boat there is nothing they can do about it. They don't own the water just the land around it.
Still wondering which trail people use to access it though. I guess I'll just find out on my own.

get real. if they own the land there is no access. if you want to fish there you will need to be dropped off and picked up by a helicopter. as for the stocked fish I do not believe the gov't stocks it.

the last time deep was stocked was in 2003 which was about when they cut off access. I recall fishing there in 2003. access was allowed then . I rode my bike in from the ranch head quarters on hwy 6 but too many idiots lit fires etc. so access was cut off. it was not Coldstream's fault. there was a disaster waiting to happen.

Is there still fish in that little lake? I know that the fisheries stocked the lake in 2003 but now that they do not allow acess do you think it is still stocked but privately? If 2003 is the last time it was stocked I would think that the fish would be dead by now. Hey VernonMedic the lake is pretty easily acesseable through Kal park just watch out for rattlesnakes in the summer, they are everywhere out there. really big ones too!

just because you can walk across private land from kal lk park does not mean it is legal. as I said previously , if you want to try fishing there ask permission. I pointed out the reason that Coldstream Ranch cut off access. They might allow access with permission then they know who is there (and lighting fires on hot summer days) . I doubt any fish have survived all these years in any event.
