thought i'd try it out if they are available near the docks with a herring jig. you guys have any luck?

Not sure where local is for you but,most of the herring spawn is done for the year.
Late feb to mid March is prime.Docks would be hit and miss.Unless a school is there,you're SOL.A boat would be a big help.What do you want herring for?

local being just vancouver lowermainland. my wife loves herring/smelt so i thought i'd try for some with a herring jig. maybe for bait in the summer as well.
