So I got barked at by some guy today at dewdney slough for jig fishing there. He says twitching a jig down from the mission bridge is against the regs. I've looked through the regs and couldn't find anything. Anyone else know of this restriction?

must be an unwritten law as I sure cannot find anything in the salmon regs or fresh water regs . sounds like someone did not have any jigs so did not want anyone to use them. some people are just poor sports! (lol)

Maybe jealousy, maybe idiocy. After I was fighting a fish and lost it, I heard one of the guys say "did you rip it's stomach out!" It was hard for me to bite my tongue, but now thinking they are confusing twitching a jig with flossing.
Anyway, I will continue to get my jig on, as it has been very productive!!

lots of dickheads that enforce their own rules out there, jigging is effective when done right.

Haha, twitching a jig is illegal, now that's funny, amazing with what people will tell ya out there.
Twitching jigs can be very fun at times, as well as productive, but for myself I don't bother anymore.
When fishing for chum and coho with a gear rod it's just as easy for me and less work to throw a jig on and tip it with a piece of raw prawn or a 3 or 4 egg roe bag, for both coho and the chum {steelhead too for that matter}.
Jigs alone will usually do but when tipped it usually doubles the production, I find anyways.
There all pretty easy to catch though so sometimes mixing it up is a fun way to test your skills and ideas while out there. After all, how many chum in a row do you want to catch before it gets kinda old anyway.
I'm pretty much stuck in hunting mode til boxing day now, then it's game on back at the flow{s}.
Hope everybody gets what their looking for out there, just be decent about it.

Had the same thing happen to me at dewdney two days ago! If you saw the fist fight, thats what the clown attacked attacked me for. Same guy I wonder.
