Inherited a dragonfly fly rod... It has a#8 on it,, would this mean 8 wt.... I've caught lil trout on it and it has quite a bend to it and I thought 8 wt was a lil sturdier?

Yup, #8 is an 8wt

fly rods do seem to have a lot more bend to it than a gear rod. Unless its a high end gear rod, then it gets sort of similar in comparison.

8wt should be good for most salmon go giver a whirl, i'm sure itll hold up. my 6wt tip hits the water when i get into a decent size trout, but it also does fine on pinks and coho, depending on the current/tide.

Right on, ya that's what I was curious about, want get into some coho with it but wasn't sure, thanx!

I think I would want a larger arbour reel than my lil trout one.. Any suggestions along with prices
