Fished the Gold last year and had the best success on K4 wobblers in brass with orange stripe. Best run was accross from the fish and game club and the run at the Golf course. We did the raft trip and had several hook ups on big orange goey bobs with white wool as well. One litle trick the guide shared with us was when using worms tie them upside down. That is with the hook coming out of the large end of the worm. Also, when it comes to hooks do not worry about using small hooks.Hope this helps. As far as accomodation goes we stayed at the motel just down from the Bar. Can't remember the name but you turn right just when you get into town and it is a little ways up the hill. The rooms were clean and reasonable and they had a room for drying waders etc.

thanks not sure what the name of this run is, it's just down river of the golf course.is this the run you are talking about? above this run was wide and shallow and went around course into big slow canyon like run. got one fish out of it on a pink worm.

it's on the island about an hour and half from cambell river. it's catch and release and supposed to hold good numbers of wild steelhead.

Stink finger, looks very familiar. The run we fished was right below the club house at the golf course. the far side of the river was good and just at the top of the fast water before it hits the bend.(good spoon water). It look shallow but was not. Water is so clear. I tried to wade out and it was probably 6+ feet deep.
