i was wondering if its safe to ice-fish in the merrit-kamloops area yet. i can't wait to bust out my auger and stumble around a lake aimlessly in pursuit of some nice rainbows. i know loon lake is pretty good. i'm just not sure how much ice is out there.

All I've talked to tell me lots of ice. They are planning to go ice fishing on the X-Mas break and in to Jan. Try e-mailing a few resort to see what they can tell you.

I have not yet been up to the interior this winter but I was up at Lightning last weekend and althought the ice was a little thin we sat on it all day and drank beer/fished so I am sure the lakes up there are good to go.maybe give powder keg a call.cheers.

kokanee King, the Contest is still on till Dec 24 - so you may wish to submit a fishing report for Lightning Lake. It looks like there is not much competition for the three great prizes  Maybe I should try to win something for myself...
