went out early morning around 184th. took this female hatch around 9:00 this morning on pink roe. lots of jumpers some of them "good for smoker" quality. beware: lots of roe snatchers on the bottom.

Awesome catch! Did you use a float or just drift fished the roe?

no weight or float. did not notice a tug as it ate the roe and just sat there. when i reeled in line to check the roe then it tugged. again....lots of roe snatchers so bring plenty.

How did you fish then? You used roe but without a float or weight?

lol, sorry guys, that's the first time I have ever heard of that kind of fishing method, I always use a float but I guess you don't have to. I live close to the river but have never tried it.

Use a fly rod with roe or a big dewy and just let it drift ..

bait on a flyrod? not something i would do...bait is for gear..flies are for flyrods..tie up some bait looking flies..easy to tie up some worms and Ive tied up some roe looking flies as well

curious, do you use the spawn nets around the roe? or just roe straight on to an egg/bait loop?

fly rods are not just meant for flys ,try it some time also i put small lures or spinners on my fly rods and troll around on some of my fav lakes.this bad boy was caught on a lure on my fly rod ,just shy of 8 pounds
