Hello everyone. Been a while since I posted here but wanted to share a little.
I tried fishing the Tidal portion of the Fraser 3 times in the last 2 weeks and finally had some luck.
The first time I tried was about September 25th out around Annacis Island at a nice tucked away spot on the south arm. I timed my trips to hit the low tide rising and fished for about 6 hours right from around noon until dark. I used different lures the entire time. Not even a bite ! It was good to get out again though.
Second time I hit the Dairy bar on the southeast side of Annacis. I timed for low tide rising again except this time I was bottom fishing for Coho with bait. This was 3 days ago on the 5th. I only fished for about 3 hours that day with not even a bite, again. I don't give up that easily though.
Third time was yesterday the 7th. I arrived at 3pm at low tide on Annacis to my preferred spot again, on the south arm, nice and sandy and shallow. I was with my girlfriend so we had 2 rods out with bait. No bites for a good hour. The entire time we were out there though there was a little tiny aluminum boat with 3 guys fishing about 100 meters from us. They were yelling and hollering every 15 minutes as they were slamming the fish, releasing most of them too. I closely paid attention and noticed to my surprise they were spincasting lures. So I figured hell, I may as well try. So I put on my little tiny blue fox spinner that is silver with a little blue and pink on it. On my 5th cast my drag is just burning, salmon on! After a nice 5 minute fight of this fish just freaking out I got him to shore, a nice wild 4lb chrome wild male jack coho. I let it go of course. No luck after that but it was worth it

Thanks! I might try again tomorrow, not sure yet. It is great fun out on the tidal, so challenging. Vast amounts of water and space and really about good spots and timing.
A little luck helps too haha

Whereabouts on the tidal Fraser were ya ripping the coho? I was out at the mouth of the vedder all day Saturday and only hooked into one. There were at least 2 dozen boats out there and we only seen a couple caught.
